Overview

Extend your range between fill-ups during road trips by installing the Titan 7010217 56 Gallon Mid-Ship Replacement Fuel Tank the 2017-2019 GM 2500HD/3500HD 6.6L Duramax L5P Crew Cab, Short Bed. The stock fuel tank holds a measly 36 gallons of fuel, forcing you to make more fuel stops and adding more time to your journey when hauling a load or simply going on a weekend adventure. Just imagine how convenient another 20 gallons would be! Best of all, this Mid-Ship tank bolts right into the factory fuel tank location with no modifications and also uses your factory sending unit!

Constructed from military grade cross-linked polyethylene, this tank is incredibly strong, won't rust, and won't build up condensation! Mounting straps, extruded rubber mounting bushings, and any necessary hardware is included for a complete installation.

FEATURES:

  • 56 Gallon Fuel Capacity
  • Replaces Factory Fuel Tank
  • Complete Bolt-On Installation
  • Cross-Linked Polyethylene Construction

Note:

Fits Crew Cab, Short Bed models only.

Technical Service Bulletin For 2019 GM 6.6L Duramax L5P

Issue: Fuel gauge drops to empty after Initial Install and during normal operation.

Explanation: GM trucks have the ability through programming and monitoring to know exactly how much fuel is in the tank, as well as fuel consumption based on miles driven and fuel economy. Any large capacity fuel tank causes the float to move slower than the computer thinks is acceptable. When the computer sees this, it will run a system check and drop the fuel gauge to empty. When the fuel level comes off full, the gauge should return to the correction position after restarting the vehicle.

Solution: Although Titan was told early on that trucks have fixed themselves after several tanks of fuel when following a specific process, they are no longer able to confirm this or any other permanent fix for this issue. If this is a concern for you, Titan recommend using an aftermarket digital monitor to confirm accurate fuel level when this occurs.
