Overview

The Banks Power 24401 BigHead Wastegate Actuator features twice the diaphragm area and spring pressure of the stock wastegate for your 1999 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke (Early 7.3). Under high-boost conditions, the stock wastegate's weak spring allows the wastegate to open, limiting midrange torque. This wastegate stays closed to maintain peak boost for superior acceleration and mid-range pulling power. When turbo exhaust backpressure increases, the factory actuator can prematurely open, softening the boost in the midrange and reducing torque. The Banks BigHead Wastegate keeps the valve closed longer and reaches a higher peak boost, faster. At its peak, it opens the wastegate and maintains its position. This actuator precisely controls the boost to provide you with crisp acceleration and more mid-range pulling power.
